TAILOR MADE SOFTWARE RELEASES
NEW VERSION AUTOXCHANGE

Popular Batch Conversion Utility for Autodesk™ DWG and DXF Files Now Supports
the SVG format, Hierarchical assemblies, PDF Watermarks and
AutoCAD Standard Views on Windows, UNIX and LINUX Platforms

Kent, Washington, August 15, 2002 -Tailor Made Software, Ltd. (TMS), recognized experts in CAD graphic file conversion and Internet viewing, today announced AutoXchange, Version 8.5. First introduced in 1995 AutoXchange, v8.5 now supports SVG files as an output format, hierarchical assemblies, PDF Watermarks and AutoCAD Standard Views. Additionally, AutoXchange v8.5 support for enhanced output for DWG to PDF font mapping and has had the AutoCAD display processing engine rewritten. Together, these enhancements make AutoXchange the most powerful conversion product available to convert Autodesk™ DWG and DXF Files to an impressive array of commonly used CAD and technical illustration drawing and image output formats.

“Our users need AutoCAD DWG and DXF files converted quickly into non-AutoCAD formats with limited hassles and without the loss of detail to get their jobs done,” said Eugenio Varela, Managing Director of PlanOk S.A. “We have searched long and hard for a proven command-line interface application that can be installed and run on a Windows or Solaris Server. The new version of AutoXchange™ is the answer--in ease of use, platform support and in the breadth of output formats.”

AutoXchange has been expressly designed to perform batch conversion and to work as part of an automated process. Particular attention has been paid in the new release to internet-based visualization formats like PDF, SVG and DWF. An important addition, in those formats that support it, is the preservation of Hierarchical Assemblies.

“Hierarchical Assemblies are an exciting new addition to the world of Internet Viewing” said Scott Taylor, President and Founder of Tailor Made Software. “We have had the concept in CAD for the 20 plus years I have been working with it. It is good that the 2D Internet formats are finally embracing this. Assemblies allow the user to identify not just the lines and arcs of the drawing, but the wheels and engine of the design. 3D web formats have had this, but only now do formats like SVG and DWF allow it.”

AutoCAD Standard View support allows the selection of Top, Bottom, Left, Right, Front, Back and the four Isometric views. Formerly only those views expressly defined in the drawing could be converted. This greatly increases the 3D to 2D conversion capabilities.
